The former startup Nuki from the Austrian city of Graz presented today the second generation of his smart door lock. According to Nuki co-founder and Managing Director Martin Pansy, the new Nuki Smart Lock 2.0 is the logical further development of the digital door lock launched in early 2016.

Improved electronics in the new door lock provide more performance. Among other things, receives the new Nuki Smart Lock 2.0, a support of Apple’s HomeKit and ZigBee. In addition, the Smart Lock 2.0 has got a magnetic door sensor donated, with which one can get not only the status of the door lock (unlocked or locked) but also the status of the door (open or closed).

The new Nuki Smart Lock generation now supports Bluetooth 5 for even greater range and can now be used with Knauf cylinders as well. In addition, the New Smart Look has an increased number of possible authorizations. If these were limited to 100 for the first generation, the second generation supports up to 200 stored authorizations. This is particularly convenient z. B. for use in offices, co-working spaces or club rooms. The Austrian company continues to rely on easy retrofitting and compatibility.

Alexa, Google Home & Co
With its seamless integration with language assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Siri, Nuki makes it easy for users. For existing customers, the company offers a cost-effective upgrade program for the Smart Lock 2.0 with the start of sales.

Price & Availability
The new Nuki Smart Lock 2.0 will be available from November and costs 229, – Euro (RRP), the Nuki Bridge costs 99, – Euro (RRP). The bandel named Nuki Combo, consisting of a Nuki Smart Lock 2.0 and a corresponding bridge, is available for 299, – Euro (RRP). The products are available, among others, in the manufacturer’s online shop, at Amazon or in the local electronics store.
