New mid-range Smartphone Honor 8X unveiled
The Huawei subsidiary Honor has introduced the Honor 8X, a new mid-range smartphone. The new model of the X-series comes with an upscale mid-range equipment for 250 euros on the market. The screen of the Honor 8X is quite large with 6.5 inches, the resolution is 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The pixel density is 397 ppi, which is sufficient for a sharp presentation. The screen with notch is held by a rather narrow frame.
Like the Honor 10, the Honor 8X on the back also has a dual camera consisting of a main camera with 20 megapixels and a supporting camera with 2 megapixels. The front camera has 16 megapixels.
Using learning machines (Honor calls it AI, which is synonymous with artificial intelligence), the smartphone recognizes recording situations and adjusts the image settings accordingly. So too is night-shot mode built-in, which stabilizes up to six seconds of free-hand shooting.
Inside the Honor 8X is a Huawei Kirin-710 processor. This mid-range SoC consists of four A73 cores and four A53 cores and achieves a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz. The device has 4 GB of RAM, the built-in memory is depending on the variant 64 GB or 128 GB in size and can be expanded by microSD card. The Honor 8X supports LTE and WLAN 802.11ac as well as Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and GPS. Users can use two SIM cards and one micro SD card in parallel.
The Honor 8X is still with Android 8.1, if there will be an update to Android 9 aka “Pie”, is currently still unclear. The 64 GB version of the Honor 8X costs 250, – Euro, for the 128 GB version you should pay 280, – Euro.
