The dinosaur of information technology IBM announced on Sunday the largest acquisition in its history: For 34 billion US Dollar (190, – US-Dollar per share) takes over IBM Red Hat, a leading offerer of Open SOURCE software.

At the close on Friday, before the acquisition plans became known, Red Hat’s stock price was $ 116.68. The company is to become one unit of IBM’s hybrid cloud division, and Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst will join IBM’s senior management team. The deal makes IBM the world leader in hybrid cloud business.
