Gigaset introduces GS270 & GS270 Plus
Gigaset, so far above all known for its cordless DETC phones, today presented a sophisticated entry-level smartphone, the Gigaset GS270 or GS270 Plus.
The GS270 has a 2GB memory and 16GB internal memory, the GS270 Plus has 3GB of memory and 32GB of internal memory. Both variants can be expanded to 128 GB with a Micro SD card. Inside, a MediaTek Quad-Code processor of the type MTK 6750T operates at 1.5 GHz. Compared to the GS170, the second Nano SIM card or a SIM card together with an SD card can be used in GS270.
A further difference to the GS170 is the permanently installed 5.000 mAh lithium-ion battery, which should power the device for several days with power and can also be used as Powerbank. The Bochholder company places particular emphasis on Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice over WiFi support, VoWiFi. The WLAN connection is optionally via the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz band. For further local area communication, the GS270 has the support of Bluetooth 4.0 LE, which is later updated via software update to the version 4.1 LE.
From the outside, the Gigaset GS270 in comparison with the GS170 is a bit reworked, which is not least due to the fixed battery. The GS270 also has rounded corners with 2.5D gorilla glass, like its little brother. This ensures that the device is comfortable in the hand and, thanks to anti-lubrication coating, always maintain a clear view of the screen.
